Moon Phases

Astrological timing and moon phases are also useful in the practice of magic, I don't believe that you necessarily have to sweat on the astrological/moon timing of a ritual or spell for it to be successful. Try to use as a guide only. For example if I needed a money spell because my bills were starting to add up and the Moon was waning, not exactly a good time to cast a spell to bring something to me. I would instead do the reverse cast spell of banishing to get rid of my bills.

Waxing Moon.
The best time for invoking or bringing something into your life. i.e. A new job etc.

Full Moon.
The most powerful time of the month, most magic works well at this time. Also a good time for dedicating and consecrating.

Waning Moon
Best time for banishing or getting rid of something in your life you longer want or need.

Dark and New Moon
Magic is not usually practiced at this time. Traditionally curses were performed when the moon was not visible.

Astrological Phases

Astrological timing is a little more complex than simple Moon Magic. You cannot just look into the night sky without a telescope to find the correct timing. The theory is that different kinds of magic are performed when a ruling planet is within it's constellation. For e.g. A spell or ritual for Love would be best performed when the Planet Venus is in the Constellation of Libra. For Astrological timing you would have to consult a Astrological Almanac to find when certain Planets are in a particular sign. Almanacs can be found in most Newsagents. You then simply conduct your spell or ritual at the appropriate time.

Days of the Week

The days of the week are also ruled by certain planets. You can also conduct your rituals on a specific day if you think it would benefit your situation.

Monday

Ruled by the Moon.

Tuesday

Ruled by Mars

Wednesday

Ruled by Mercury

Thursday

Ruled by Jupiter

Friday

Ruled by Venus

Saturday

Ruled by Saturn

Sunday

Ruled by the Sun

The hours of the day are also ruled by certain planets, Not many people get too specific about this so I have decided not to include that table here. All this above should really only be used as a guide don't get too pedantic about when to cast a spell you will feel when it is the right time.
