Candle magic is one of the most best known of what is commonly called Low Magics, a simple but effective art form that can produce good results without the fuss of a full ritual. As with all forms of magic concentration and a firm belief in what you are doing is essential to success. Whatever you do to enter Ritual Consciousness (see glossary) should be practiced before attempting any form of magic including this simple technique. The first thing the magician must do is identify the desire or outcome they wish to produce. When the outcome is identified the magician selects a candle

with the colour appropriate to their desire. For e.g. If I desired prosperity a Gold candle would be selected. Here is a list of colours and their uses:

White	Psychic powers, intuition, the moon, the higher self, the feminine, use white for a substitute for other colours.
Black	Protection, repelling negativity, binding, cursing, Saturn.
Blue	Good fortune, communication, wisdom, inspiration, reassurance, water.
Red	Energy, strength, passion, courage, Mars, ambition, career, goals, love, survival, lust.
Pink	Romantic love, healing of emotions, peace, affection, emotional partnerships, caring, Venus.
Yellow	For the intellect or mind, to clear thoughts, or to just clear your head, education, exams, mercury.
Green	Mother earth, physical healing, fertility, herbs, growth love, Venus.
Brown	Earth, grounding, putting your feet back on the ground, consolidating.
Silver	Similar to white, the moon, psychic powers, intuition.
Gold	Prosperity, not just monetary, all over well-being and happiness, The Sun.

Procedure:

Select the appropriate coloured candle for your goal (preferably one that has never been used for any other purpose). Then select an oil (essential oils will be discussed later) for now you may use Olive oil or if you know the properties of essential oils choose one appropriate to your desire. If you wish to attract something into your life, take some oil put it on your fingers and rub the oil inwards from each end of the candle to the middle. If you want to get rid of something or banish, rub the oil from the the middle of the candle to each end. In a quiet place or in front of your altar bring yourself to Ritual Consciousness and say "By my will I consecrate this taper/candle, that it may burn in strength for my desire." Clearly state your intention/desire. You may wish to chant or repeat your desire and let the candle burn approximately half way or just as long as some remains. When the candle has burned for some time and you have intensely concentrated on your desire. You may now bury it. If you are attracting something bury the remains inside your property. If you are getting rid of something bury outside your property. Try to perform the spell at the appropriate moon phase. Please email if you have any questions.
