This simple cleansing procedure can be used to clear any negative or other influences of any object you intend to use in a spell or ritual. It is always a good idea to cleanse any object that belonged to somebody else if you want to use it in magic. If it is a new object feel free to cleanse and consecrate.

1) Trace a banishing pentagram over the object with your Athame.

2) Circle the item three times anticlockwise with your Athame.

3) Say "By my Will may all negative lingering influences depart, now!"

4) Point your Athame at the item and imagine a silver light clearing the item.

5) Say "So it is done!"
